What Makes
Holistic Sessions Different?

Our 90-minute holistic sessions may draw from any of the following approaches. Explore what might support you best below:

Walk-and-Talk Therapy

Walk-and-talk therapy blends traditional counseling with the healing power of nature. Sometimes called nature therapy or ecotherapy, this approach offers a more relaxed, grounded way to reflect and reconnect. In these sessions, you can expect:

  • Gentle movement and fresh air to support emotional regulation

  • A calming outdoor setting to reduce stress and anxiety

  • Mindful connection with nature as part of the healing process

  • The freedom to speak openly without the intensity of face-to-face sitting

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just tired of being indoors, nature-based therapy offers a supportive way to slow down and feel more like yourself again.

Art-based expressive therapy offers a creative, nonverbal path to healing and self-discovery. You don’t need to be “artistic” — just open to exploring what wants to be expressed. In these sessions, we may incorporate:

  • Drawing, painting, or collage to process emotions

  • Creative expression to access parts of you words can’t always reach

  • Guided reflection to explore themes, patterns, and inner insight

  • A calm space to express, release, and reconnect with yourself

Expressive arts therapy helps you explore your inner world in a way that feels natural, personal, and deeply human — no pressure, no judgment.

Somatic and Yoga-Informed Therapy

Somatic and yoga-informed therapy is an alternative approach that helps you reconnect with your body, release tension, and feel more grounded. Rather than focusing only on thoughts, this work gently includes the body in the healing process. In sessions, we may explore:

  • Breathwork and gentle movement to calm the nervous system

  • Somatic awareness practices to track where emotions live in the body

  • Mindfulness tools to support presence, safety, and inner clarity

  • A compassionate space to process stored stress and deepen self-understanding

This alternative, body-based therapy can be especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, and feeling “stuck in your head.” You don’t need to be flexible or experienced — just open to tuning inward.

Lifestyle support is a natural part of holistic mental health counseling. While I don’t offer medical or dietary advice, we can explore how your daily rhythms may be impacting your emotional and mental well-being. This can include:

  • Gently reflecting on sleep, movement, and stress patterns

  • Exploring how habits and routines influence your mood and focus

  • Identifying areas of imbalance and creating structure that supports mental clarity

  • Encouraging lifestyle shifts that align with your goals and values

This process is always collaborative — helping you move toward a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and sustainable.
